A Little Something I Read That Made An Impact
Sometimes I wake up and have to remind myself:
"There's nothing wrong with me.
I have patterns to unlearn, new behaviors to embody, and wounds to heal.
But there is nothing wrong with the core of me, and who I am.
I am unlearning generations of harm, and remembering love.
It takes time."
If you liked playing in the dirt as a kid,
and want to get that fun, carefree feeling back as an adult
without getting stared at,
garden.
Plant flowers,
plant vegetables,
but plant something.
If an adult played in the dirt,
they'd pack you off in a heartbeat,
if you garden,
no one bats an eye.
Still just playing in the dirt.
It's all in how you look at it.
:)
I read this on FB...
Someone who drowns in 7 feet of water is just as dead as someone who drowns in 20 feet of water.
Stop comparing traumas. Stop belittling yours, or anyone else's trauma because it wasn't "as bad as" someone else's.
This isn't a competition. We all deserve support and recovery, period.
Very profound thought.
If you happen to be feeling a bit bummed this holiday season,
Turn the lights on on the Christmas tree, and lay underneath it.
Watch the lights, it's a beautiful experience.
And when asked, simply say.
"Gifts go under the tree."
Because
You
Really
Are
A GIFT
